This spring has brought about for me many life changes and one of them has been paying more attention to what goes into my body. Â I am getting older 45, and as the years roll on I am noticing that recovery time from work outs, hikes or martial arts training is taking a bit longer, thus the changes.
One of the things that we have done is bought a juicer from Andy’s Market, it is called a Champion Juicer and it does a great job of juicing everything for us from Carrots and Beats, to Apples and Oranges. Â Oranges well that brings us to the topic of the day. Â
We started buying cases of oranges as I have found that to make 4 cups of juice in the Champion Juicer takes about 6 to 8 Navel Oranges. Â A couple of months ago we bought navel oranges for about $13.50 per case and they were perfect juicy and very tasty. Â Well now the last visit to Andy’s they were $22.00 and they are woody and very little juice and what is there is not good.
My lesson is to buy and live on Oranges in Season and become a bit more of a grazer change the content of my diet as the food sources become less available or more expensive. Â
My SUGGESTION to Andy’s Market is if you are going to practice this kind of price increase at least have your staff taste the Oranges to make sure of quality before pricing things at such an egregious rate.
Andy’s by the way is a wonderful source for bulk foods and fresh stuff of all varieties. Â Good people good stuff. Â Watch the prices on Oranges though.
